I have three strong plays for you tonight. Personally, I love these plays but that’s not saying much because I love everything I bet. Let’s make some money.
Toledo vs. Eastern Michigan 6 pm CT ESPN+
I love the way Toledo is playing. The Rockets last time out was against 25th ranked Buffalo and they were competitive throughout before falling 88-82. Before that, they were on a 5 game win streak beating their opponents by an average of 7.8 points. They also have the nations 54th ranked defense which should create problems for an Eastern Michigan team that hasn’t scored more than 66 points in their last four games. I expect the game to be close throughout but see Toledo expanding late to cover the short number.
Pick: Toledo -3
Kent State vs Central Michigan 6 pm CT ESPN+
Another Mac conference game? Yikes. Sometimes you have to take what the card gives you and find the weak spots. Give me the Over here. Kent state sometimes struggles to score on the road but against a pedestrian defense I’m not worried about that. The Golden Flashes have the MAC’s leading scorer in Jaylin Walker who averages 22.2 points per game. I look for Walker to pass his season total in a high scoring affair. On the other side of the ball, Central Michigan can score and really likes to run. They run an uptempo offense through two guards that can get to the line. Points with the clock stopped always benefits an over. With a small spread, I expect the game to be close at the end allowing for a few cheap free throws putting this one well over 156.5.
Pick: Over 156.5
Baylor vs. Iowa State 8 pm CT ESPN+
Really tough spot here for the Baylor Bears. Going on the road, to a red hot Iowa state team, while being short handed, sounds like a blowout. Baylor will most likely be without Makai Mason (15.6 ppg) and King McClure (9.9 ppg) which would give Iowa State a huge advantage. Without those two, Baylor will only have 8 scholarship players available come game time. As if everything hasn’t been going against Baylor to start, the Cyclones look to avenge a 73-70 loss at Baylor earlier this year. Look for Iowa State to wear down the shorthanded Baylor Bears as they turn this into a revenge game.
Pick: Iowa State -8.5
