Prior to the tournament you could have bet on Tiger Woods to win the 2019 Masters anywhere from about 12/1 to 15/1 depending on where you shopped. Safe to say people certainly took advantage of those odds to add a little extra dough to their pocket.

The William Hill US Sportsbook in Nevada reported a bettor coming in with an $85,000 bet on Tiger to win at 14/1, totaling a $1.19 million dollar payout. Man oh man could you imagine that ticket?!?! I had a $25 ticket on Patrick Cantlay at 66/1 and I was at the edge of my seat the entire final round, I couldn't imagine what that bettor was going through. The bettor had to get the bet approved by the sportsbooks CEO because they had never had someone bet that much money to potentially win that much money on golf in their US sportsbook. Crazy stuff, what a Sunday that guy had.

After the bet, William Hill lowered Tiger's odds from 14/1 to 10/1. The coolest feeling in the world has to be seeing the sportsbook shaking as you are placing a big bet and watch the odds change on the board right in front of you.

On top of William Hill, Fanduel & Draftkings sportsbooks located in New Jersey both reported seven figure losses for their books on Tiger's win. This really is no surprise, not only is Tiger the most popular golfer ever but he is one of the most popular athletes of all time and usually the more popular you are, the more people bet on you. People didn't stop betting on Tiger all week and it paid off for the people, not for the sportsbooks. Good to see the people beat the house every once in awhile.

Looking ahead for Tiger and his betting odds for the next three majors of the year (according to Bovada):

-PGA Championship in May: 7/1 (favorite)

-US Open in June: 7.5/1 (favorite)

-The Open Championship in July: 7.5/1 (favorite)

For good measure and to fire the people up, the opening odds for the 2020 Masters, per the Westgate in Vegas:

-Tiger Woods 8/1. Yep you guessed it, the favorite!

So Tiger is currently the betting favorite for the next three majors for 2019, and is the favorite for a tournament that will be concluding one year from now.

Nobody moves the needle quite like Tiger Woods.
